By using the
RFID technology
and frequencies embedded on
student cards
, attendance-taking/student interactions can be
made
more efficient
,
more reliable
and allow the institution or
lecturer
to better
interpret
the
attendance trends
by using a
dashboard-based interface.
Even though the project is still in its developmental phase,
interest
has already been shown
from colleagues in other
departments
in the Faculty, that would like to apply something
similar for
academic purposes
and to streamline
other existing
tracking processes
(keeping track of venue resources such as
remotes). Interest has also been shown by
other institutions
.
Therefore the system should be extended.
