Recommendations flowing from the pilot study:

RFID enabled devices should be
installed in all venues
(should be
linked to presentation computers/ or allow laptop access)

The
correct frequency identifier codes need to be recorded
or
made available by campus protection services
–
A University
sub-system should be created
to record the
attendance and provide the lecturer, administrators and other
interested parties with a dashboard to analyse attendance
trends (based on what was discovered with the pilot study)
–
The system should be
linked to other
existing
systems
in order to
display a list of students per module. These can furthermore be
linked to the class
timetable system
. When students go to class
they can automatically start to scan because the system has
already associated their details with a module, class period and
venue.
