In addition, in order to get balanced views from the student voices, this research
proceeds by interrogating Tutor mentor advisors (TMAs) who

facilitated the FYSE seminars during the period under review.The implementation of
FYSE at the DUT is overseen by the TMAs who are appointed senior students based
on their prior experience with FYSE as students and their academic performance.
The TMAs are then trained by the FYSE team on how to facilitate the sessions.The
seven questions were:

How can you describe the attitude of students towards the FYSE?

How has your relationship been with the students so far?

Are there any challenges you have faced conducting FYSE sessions? If yes, how did

What suggestions can you provide to better the FYSE?
