2. How can you describe the attitude of students towards the FYSE?
Very live, enthusiastic although others use the time for their school work
Desponded, confused, agitated
Exciting and helpful as it involves topics not covered by lecturers
Some take it lightly since it doesn’t contribute to marks
Willing to express their knowledge and views
Optimistic and interactive, they participate in everything
Students have bad attitude towards FYSE because it is not a pre-requisite,
some attend whilst some never come, they ask what is there for them
since it is not for marks
They enjoy it but students who are not fluent in English are shy to speak
out, the one hour period is small for the group
At first they did not like the programme, they were negative and refused
to attend but after seeing majority of the class participating, they joined
