Southern African Rurality in Higher Education

Context – Decoloniality

How can we not speak of decoloniality in the 21

st

century – a

question put in the negative?

We cannot

dissociate the work we do, within our disciplines, from a

reflection on its political and institutional conditions.

How

can we not gives notice of the preventive: some of the typical

risks/traps to be avoided when talking de-coloniality.

Reflections on research & knowledge generation cannot any

longer occur outside the context of striving for decoloniality.

This discourse needs to make its way through our research aims,

norms & procedures.
