Southern African Rurality in Higher Education
‘
Decoloniality’: not decolonisation nor transformation
•
Transformation discourse has ensured that things are
changed to remain the same – changing form, not
substance inside the form.
•
Has produced radicalism in western trained minds – left the
mode of reasoning the same – unchanged.
•
Decolonisation failed the continent – political decision to
replace white colonial governments with local, black
leadership.
•
Did not succeed in removing procedures, values, norms,
practices, thinking, beliefs, choices, of a sense of superiority
of Europe.
